Vessel & Melodic as a Winner of The Independent Music Awards Vox Populi
poll, a component of the 8th IMA program.

On behalf of all of us at Music Resource Group and The Independent Music
Awards - Congratulations!

The 8th annual IMAs received submissions from over 70 countries on 6
continents, and more than 33,000 votes were cast at the Vox Pop jukebox, so
this was no small feat to say the least.

Since our goal is to keep the spotlight on talented independent artists like

MARYLAND HOLY HIP HOP BAND, JOE L DA VESSEL AND MELODIC TO APPEAR ON BOBBY JONES PRESENT™

February 19, 2009 at 6:30pm Fort Washington,Maryland Holy Hip Hop artist Joe L Da Vessel and Melodic to appear on  Bobby Jones Presents™ aired by  The Word Network™  

Joe L Da Vessel and Melodic will appear on  Bobby Jones Presents™ at 6:30pm on Thursday , February 19, 2009.  The program hosted by Tye Tribbett and Richard Smallwood  features the New Artist Showcase and gives inside information on the Gospel Artist Retreat in Las Vegas held in November 2008. 

             2008 Gospel Music Stellar Award Nominee Joseph Holt, formerly known as "Big Shank" and his band Melodic were invited to travel to Las Vegas to attend the Bobby Jones Gospel Retreat. At the Retreat, they performed songs from their first cd "Testimony: 1 Lyrics 4 Life" and their upcoming cd " The Big Shank Redemption" for the  Bobby Jones Presents™  program. "The sheer artistic precision and musicianship displayed by this bunch was phenomenal! " said Tyson Reddic of the Eddie Reddic Band. The retreat was a time to network and fellowship with other musicians and performers from all over the country. For Joe and the band "performing for a legend like Dr. Bobby Jones in the legendary city of Las Vegas – priceless! "

DC Vote is proud to be a promotional sponsor of Our City Film Festival, featuring films that take place in or focus on Washington, DC's communities, history, inhabitants, culture, or customs. The festival is intended to promote pride in the city, bring communities together, illuminate emerging local issues and celebrate "our city's" history and culture.

Presented by Yachad, the festival will award cash prizes for winning films in these four categories: documentary that is filmed in or is about Washington, DC; Narrative that is filmed in or is about Washington, DC; Documentary about surrounding DC area; Narrative or Documentary directed by a native Washingtonian and a Narrative or Documentary completed by a DC Public School student.
